The Homeschool Student is also referred to as “Scholar” or “Privately Taught” Client. The typical Scholar is on an accelerated learning track, which allows them to graduate High School before they turn 17. We do not accept or graduate students 18 years or older. The length of time they are with us depends on their individual aptitude.
The purpose of the Personalized Academic Program is to improve the individual’s academic performance, develop “College Ready” skills, and promote the student when competencies are reached with an 80% proficiency or better, vs. waiting until the ‘calendar year’ to promote. This keeps the Scholars engaged and in a high performing class. This is also why we have a rolling start for each student.
The Personalized Academic Program for Homeschool is built around immediate goals, competencies, and career goals tailored to the Scholar. The Program is administered through face-to-face, telephonic, and/or digital sessions on a weekly basis. This mimics the “College Ready” process, where students are expected to take ownership of their own schedule and method of communication for lessons. When properly implemented, the Program will help the scholar improve their academic assessments and production by 30% within the first year.
Most of our families have a challenge or a desire to take control of their educational career. These issues typically include:
- Safety Concerns in School Environment
- Limited Athletic Opportunities (individual sport competitions)
- “Cookie- Cutter” Education = Discouraged or Confused scholar
- Poor Test Scores = Lack of Collegiate or Scholarship Opportunity
- Health issues of family member or scholar
- Lack of College and/or Career Planning
The Board reviews each family’s individual situation to determine their suitability for The Masters Academy Advantage program.
